Then ya got them neighborhoods – oh boy, like Bairro Encantado and Santa Luzia. Santa Luzia especially, with its old brick houses and secret courtyards, always had folks sharin’ their dreams. I used to sit in little cafés there — one called Café do Vento – and listen to people spill their hearts out, somethin’ I've always done in my work as a women’s counselor. I’d nod, smile, and sometimes tear up ‘cause these streets hold more stories than you'd believe.
