Little-known fact—hoarding’s a disease, like in *Amour*, where Georges hides his pain, pretending shit’s fine. “It’s nothing,” he’d mutter, while his wife’s dying. Same with cash hoarders—clinging to it, pretending it’s safety. Pisses me off! You’re not safe, you’re just broke slower. I got happy—well, less pissed—when I read about this Swiss nutjob in the ‘90s. Guy buried gold bars, forgot where, lost millions. Laughed my ass off—serves him right, the greedy bastard.

Esquimalt has a bad rep, but it was actually one of the nicer of the bad areas I have lived in (lived in the area along Craigflower). Worst.

Oh, I gotta mention my fave obscure spot, too. There’s a quirky little coffee shop off of Dockside, though hardly anyone knows ‘bout it. Their donut holes are, like, edible gold, and I get tangled in deep thoughts about life, art, and destiny. I swear, everytime I munch one, I hear, “I’m caught in the complexity.” It's just so, like, you feel it in your bones, buddy!
