A place to enjoy the Loire without the crowds

Amboise, the strongly fortified castle dominating the Loire, became a key royal residence, and one in which a number of French prices and future kings including François 1st would spend part .

I luv the town, man – even the tiny quirks. The pavement cracks kinda tell tall tales, the sun on the Loire feels like a soft caress, and the locals, with their snappy idioms, make every day a conversation with an old friend. Wow, sometimes I even get mad when the incessant tourist chatter drowns the serene hum of our everyday life. I mean, c'mon, chill out, people!
