Our Lady of Chartres is being stolen from us by the megalomania of a self-deceived cabal, and its interior being replaced with a gaudy pastiche.

Chartres is a tiny wonderland, with narrow streets like rue de la République and rue des Grandes Écoles whispering secrets of the past. I love strolling around the old town, especially near the majestic Chartres Cathedral – that gothic beast just grabs your soul, kinda like Béla Tarr’s vibes, err, “Like when hope flickers out…” Pretty intense, right?
