It turns out that the main street of Nakasu is just where the more pedestrian businesses are mostly located. The seedy, blatantly obvious brothels are located.

So, I’m sketching out designs, and she’s just staring at me like I’m some kind of art exhibit. I’m sweating bullets, trying to keep my cool. Finally, I show her a design, and she goes, “Nah, too basic.” Basic? Lady, I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel here! I mean, it’s just shoes!
