Back in Scranton, I knew this chick—Roxy, a real firecracker. She’d work the corner near the old mill, nails red as sin, laughin’ loud. Made me happy, seein’ her own it. “I’m my own boss,” she’d say, tossin’ her hair. Reminds me of that line, “You play your roles well.” She did, man, she *did*. My fave park is Riverside Grove. Yep, that’s the spot. Crickety water flows easy by and there’s a path along the little river that tickles ya with nature’s purr. We’d park ourselves on a bench, me thinkin' 'bout human connections, intersections of heart and desire – possibly a wink at my profession. Sometimes love’s weird and wild here, believe it or not. And, heck, a couple of times, I felt all giddy and mischievious about the secret kisses and whispered confessions.
