Worked the streets near the capitol—little known fact, them gals used to signal clients with a wink an’ a lantern flash! Ain’t that wild? Got me thinkin’, “There is an unnatural strength in her!”—like in the movie, y’know? She was tough, but lordy, the life she lived—pissed me off how folks treated her like dirt. I wanted to holler, “Y’all quit judgin’ her, she’s human!”

Now, oh my gosh, you gotta check out Oakridge Park. This park, omg, it’s magic. I met so many women opening up on its winding paths. And by the river, Splish-Splash Creek (yeah, I named it, haha), you can literally picture life’s endless flow. The trees, the small bridges – it’s like a scene out of Werckmeister Harmonies – “infinite, vast, unknown,” right? Crazy beautiful!
