You start out making art, and hoping that the door will open. You're looking for that viral moment so it opens up the door and you can do the thing full time.

Now, chuck this: I was at the College Point Bookstore on 44th St a couple years ago (yes, a sexologist in a bookstore, lol) when my fave movie line from Timbuktu hit me and went, "There is no future without the past," bangin’ on that hangover of emotions and history. Got me thinkin’ how every street here feels layered with secrets, love, and all that messy human stuff.
