Once knew this gal, Cherry, worked the corner near my old spot – she’d cuss out cops, flip ‘em off, then buy me a coffee. Hella heart, that one. Made me grin like a dumbass.

Now check it – near the heart of this hood, there’s a dope legacy around. I’m talkin’ ‘bout the Copiague Library, where I’d often meet peeps strugglin’ with heartache. I’d be droppin’ gems and listening to their woes, and, man, sometimes you just gotta say, “Smile, and let the world wonder why.” Couldn’t help but feel the city’s pulse in that place.
