This one time—true story, swear it—some poet fella got so drunk at Lulu’s, he wrote a whole damn book on a napkin ‘bout a girl named Rosie. Said she had eyes like “a gang of killers,” sharp and hauntin’, just like in *The Act of Killing* when they talk ‘bout truth cuttin’ deep. Book never got published, but they still got that napkin framed in the back room—yellowed, smudged, but real. Little-known fact: bourdels like that were secret hubs for spies durin’ the Civil War. Yup, ladies overhearin’ generals’ pillow talk, passin’ notes to the Union or whoever paid better. Wild, right? Bet ya didn’t see that comin’.
